Flying for Fun is a celebration of light aircraft and the amateur builders and pilots who fly just for their love of aviation and the freedom of the skies. The event is the biggest in Europe, expected to attract up to 2,000 visiting aircraft, including hundreds of home-built and vintage types. Throughout the weekend, there will be demonstrations, forums, inter-active zones and, of course, aircraft flying and on static display.

The Schools’ Day on Friday offers schools a unique opportunity for a fascinating and an enjoyable visit, with specially-arranged tours of the site and visiting aircraft, as well as support and additional activities related to topics from the National Curriculum.

These could include an introduction to:-

lightweight structures
materials such as wood, metals, fabrics, plastics, composites
